About the Event
Participate in a hands on Citizen Science remote fauna camera trap expedition into the threatened forests of Krushka's forests to continue the vital work of monitoring and documenting the wildlife of these Gondwana native forests scheduled for logging in October 2021. You will learn the theory of how to use fauna camera traps to record Tasmanian species, get practical hands on experience setting up the camera traps and a chance to explore the forests in which Spotted tail quoll, Tasmanian devil, Masked owl, Tasmanian wedge tail eagle and even Thylacine (a while ago admittedly) Â have been documented.Â
Be prepared for a 45-50 min walk into the forests, dress for potentially cold and wet conditions, sturdy boots and BYO snacks and water.Â
All Blue Derby Wild forest events are wildlife friendly and dog free.Â
