About the Event
Small group(s) scouting trip to explore the connectivity corridor forest CC161B in the Mutual Valley to record the Tasmanian tree fern glades, eucalypt stands and evidence of wildlife threatened with logging in the spring of this year. This information will help us build a stronger campaign to protect these forests, and understanding of the terrain and biodiversity values of this critical habitat forests.
Meet 9 am at the Blue Derby MTB trail head to drive out to the forest area to begin survey work by 10am. This walk will require a decent level of coordiation and fitness, willingness to go off track (there are no trails in this forest) and sense of adventure.
What to bring; sturdy walking shoes, warm clothes, rain jacket, compass, camera (smart phone fine), water, snacks, personal first aid kit (just incase) and sense of adventure.
RSVP essential so we know how many groups to organise and supporting materials for briefing...and to wait for you at the trail head.
*All Blue Derby Wild events are dog free events. Be nice to wildlife and leave your pooch at home.
