About the Event

The forests of Krushka's have registered Wedge tail eagle nests, Masked Owl sightings, Tasmanian Devil records, Tasmanian Spot tailed quoll and the illusive Simsons Stag Beetle. Not to mention the tallest flowering plants the in the southern hemisphere, the Eucalyptus regnans (commonly called Swamp Gum), and Gondwanic remnant rainforests species.

Join scientifically trained experts in survey expeditions into these forests to explore the life and biodiversity unique to this area. All data gathered will be added to the Natural Values Atlas and Atlas of Living Australia, to help build the case for protection of these Gondwana forests.

*All Blue Derby Wild events are dog free to be wildlife and forest friendly. Any children attending are the full responsibility of the parent or guardian accompanying them, this activity is suitable for people (with good fitness and love of the out doors) 12 and up.

** BioBlitz will be rescheduled if weather (or covid restrictions) make it unsafe or unproductive to go into the forests on the alloted day.
